No day is easy, and yet every day is a blessing.
Aiden is at 27 weeks gestation and 3 months away from his original due date.
He felt better today and looked a little better. He had both his eyes open a lot today. He doesn't yet react to visual motion such as waving a hand in front of his eyes, but he does react to bright lights.
Aiden had a few bad blood gases drawn today that had too much carbon dioxide. The doctors were concerned about it, but felt he looked good enough not to warrant putting him back on the high frequency ventilator. This afternoon they got another blood gas back that was much better. The head, renal, and echocardiogram ultrasounds all came back. The head scan showed no change. The renal and echo showed no signs of infection or fungal balls. The echo did show that Aiden's heart had the PDA still.
Lisa got to do kangaroo care for about 10 minutes. Aiden did great for a while. His eyes were wide open, and he seemed relaxed. He's adorable. Unfortunately his heart rate dropped, and he had to be put back into bed. We enjoyed it while it lasted.
He lost some weight (fluids) from yesterday. They increased his milk feedings once again. He is up to 9.5mL every 2 hours.
It was another good day overall for Aiden. He is doing well considering his age and the infections. Continue to pray for him.

Lisa & Glenn,
Aiden is such a little fighter!! I have growed attatched to that little squirt while Christian was in the NICU w/ him and I enjoy checking up on him threw your Blog. I miss looking over at him in the NICU He's so Darn cute! Thank you Lisa for sharing his Blog w/ me :)I loved his first little out fit that was so cute.
Continue to be strong and give each other strength, you guys have a long road ahead but every storm you go threw God will be there to carry you when you can no longer. Aiden will be fine he's got allot of fight in him and so does his mommy and daddy. Keep doing that Kangaroo care when Aiden's health permits it even if it's only for a moment he needs it and you guys do to. I'll be praying for Aiden and you.

Lisa,
Hi! My name is Stacy (Craig) Willoughby, Donna Craig's daughter (Winchester Farm Dairy). Mom has told me of your pregnancy/ delievery and it was laid on my heart to give you a verse from the Bible that has given me hope in the past and still to this day.
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing ye shall receive. Matthew 21:22
I will continue to pray for Aiden and his health and will keep your family in my prayers.
P.S. When I see Aiden in the pictures I think of an old saying "Great things come in little packages". He is beautiful and a blessing. Well keep praying.
Stacy Willoughby
