Thursday, September 18, 2008 - Back Upstairs

Aiden decided he didn't enjoy the life of luxury in Neo 3. He was transferred back upstairs to the NICU on the 4th floor Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.. His new home is in a very busy Nursery #6 with a window view of the VA hospital.

It is amazing how comfortable we had become with his situation and the thought that he would be coming home any day. It is amazing how quickly things can change. The dye test from Tuesday showed that he has urinary reflux. A culture from yesterday tested positive for infection in his urinary tract. The doctors and nurses have already started him on a course of two different antibiotics with a newly installed IV in his head.

They also did a lumbar puncture. So far the cultures are negative, but they will be monitored for the next three days. He got a blood transfusion today and his last chest x-ray was not as good as the one in August.

With all this seemingly bad news, I'm humbly reminded of how fortunate we are. Just walking back to his crib in the corner of the NICU quickly reminded me of the amazing miracles in that hospital. Aiden is certainly one of them.

Keep praying for Aiden. He is now 6lbs of miracle.

Aiden didn't want to leave the 4th floor He knew he was being pampered up there lol Christian was in NICU 6th before they moved him beside Aiden so I know how busy it can be in there :)

Aiden will be home before you know it, like you said, He is one of those miracles. This is just a hump in the rd. WOW 6pounds Way to go Aiden!

I am sorry to hear that Aiden is back in the NICU but it is better for him to be where he needs to be to get better. That is hard for us to realize sometimes but I truly believe God has put the three of you there for a specific purpose. We may not know the reason for quite sometime but we will eventually.

You are continually in our prayers. If you need anything, all you need to do is call.

Love,
Lisa and Brooke

Glenn and Lisa,

Apparently our little talk we had with him went in one ear and out the other. We have a lot of those talks at our house so he is certainly all Boy. This too shall pass and he will be home soon.

We are continuously praying for Aiden here at home. We love you all and are just a phone call away if you need anything. Give Aiden kisses for us.

Where does he get all that stubborness from... Mom or Dad?? Look at all he has accomplished so far, this is just a little bump in the road for now. Soon he will be home and all this craziness will be a memory. Maybe we need to do another prayer circle with a little boost of encouragement. Lots of love and prayers sent your way. Give him kisses from us.
